2008-2009 Academic Year
(Fall 2008, Spring 2009 and Summer 2009)
- March 1, 2008 - Priority Application Date. Apply for financial aid as early as possible, some funds run out.
- June 1, 2008 - Direct PLUS application processing begins.
- State of IL MAP Grant deadlines:
- July 26, 2008 - First-time applicants
- July 26, 2008 - Continuing students
- Deadline dates are dependent upon funding and are subject to change. You are encouraged to apply early for priority consideration.
- Last day to process Stafford Loans:
- Fall 2008 (one semester loan) - December 17, 2008
- Fall 2008/Spring 2009 (two semester loan) -
May 4, 2009
- Summer 2009 (one semester loan) -
August 3, 2009
- June 30, 2009 - The final date to complete the FAFSA for the 2008-2009 academic year.
- The Student Financial Aid Office must have received your correct and complete information by your last day of enrollment to process your financial aid for the 2008-2009 academic year.

- March 17, 2008 - Application for summer semester financial aid at NIU available.
- July 2, 2008 - The final date to complete the FAFSA for the 2007-2008 academic year.
