How do I apply for loans?
Once your award notification is received you must submit it back to our office accepting the aid and/or requesting a Stafford Loan.
If you are requesting a Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS), you will need to obtain a PLUS Loan application from your lender. Return the completed PLUS Loan form to your lender. See Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS).
If you are classified as a Student-at-Large you must complete The Student-at-Large Stafford Loan Eligibility Form before requesting a Stafford Loan at NIU.
