What is a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and where do I need to mail it?
A Master Promissory Note (MPN) will be mailed to first-time borrowers from your lender or servicer once your Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan has been processed by the school. You must complete and sign the MPN promising to pay back the loan and mail it to your lender or servicer. The MPN is valid for 10 years, so in most circumstances, students will complete one MPN for their entire academic career.
DO NOT MAIL THE MPN TO THE SCHOOL.
