How do I cancel my financial aid if I decide not to attend NIU?
If you are enrolled: NIU requires the student to formally withdraw from the college. Once you have formally withdrawn from all your classes you will need to e-mail us at finaid@niu.edu or write to the Student Financial Aid Office to cancel your financial aid. If you are receiving loans, you must also write to your lender to cancel your loan.
If you are not enrolled: To cancel your financial aid e-mail us at finaid@niu.edu or write a letter to the Student Financial Aid Office indicating you will not attend. Cancel any loans you applied for.
