Loan Request Form

Complete the form and submit it to the Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO) after you check Important Dates to process loans.

If you are classified as a Student-at-Large at NIU, there are certain guidelines you must meet before you receive a Federal Stafford Loan.
You will need to complete the Student-at-Large Federal Stafford Loan Eligibility Form to determine your eligibility before you can complete the Loan Request Form.

Fall / Spring Semester Loan Request

You must be enrolled in at least 6 hours (excluding audits) and have:

• received and submitted your Fall/Spring NIU award notification from the Financial Aid Office
• not requested your MAXIMUM Subsidized or Unsubsidized Stafford Loan limits for Fall/Spring
