Students should notify the Student Financial Aid Office about any changes in their enrollment, whether due to withdrawal of one or more classes, or leave of absence, or withdrawal from the University.
Students should consult with their financial aid counselor prior to adjusting their academic load to less than full-time (12 credit hours) as this change in status may impact their financial aid. Typically, students must be enrolled for at least six credit hours per semester to be eligible for nearly all forms of financial aid.
Students can receive financial aid at NIU while concurrently enrolled at other institutions. See Concurrent Enrollment.
See the Consortium Agreement for details and participating schools if you will be attending another school for a semester.
